Arrest Warrant Issued for Rapper Kodak Black after Failing Drug Test

A Florida judge has issued an arrest warrant for rapper Kodak Black for failing a drug test.

Broward County Judge Barbara Duffy issued the warrant, noting that the rapper had violated conditions of his pre-trial release since July on charges of oxycodone trafficking.

Kodak Black had pleaded not guilty to the trafficking charge.  His lawyers were not immediately available for comment on Sunday.

Florida patrol officers reported that they found 31 oxycodone pills during a July traffic stop due to possible illegal tint on the windows of his vehicle.

Kodak Black has been nominated for the iHeartRadio Music Awards Hip-Hop Artist of the Year and has sold over 30 million singles, including massive hits like "Super Gremlin", which debuted at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 last year.

Kodak Black has been involved in public controversies since childhood, his legal troubles began in middle school and escalated significantly in the late 2010s.

Black was also charged with rape in 2016 and faces a first-degree criminal sexual conduct charge in South Carolina.

In 2019, Black was also arrested for possession of a weapon and then making a false statement and sentenced to nearly four years in federal prison, which was then commuted in 2021 by President Donald Trump.

He was also given a plea deal to reduce the offense of assault and battery in 2021 and was sentenced to probation.
