American actor Rainn Wilson says he's changing his name to draw attention to the melting Arctic

Rain Percival Dietrich Wilson who is an American actor, comedian, podcaster, producer, and writer.  He is also known for his role as Dwight Schrute in the NBC sitcom The Office, for which he earned three consecutive Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

Who has unofficially changed his name to call attention to the melting Arctic. 

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Wilson has said that he will now be known as Rainnfall Heat Wave Extreme Winter Wilson.  He announced his new name at the COP27 that began this week in Egypt.

"It's no joke, I'm just as serious as a melting Arctic, which is also increasing global risks, including extreme weather events around the world," Wilson added, adding that a scientist friend at his Arctic basecamp helped change the name.  helped them.

He added, "I hope this name change will focus people's attention on this issue.

Wilson continued, "We need world leaders at COP27 to take notice and act."  The Arctic is melting at millions of liters per second, yet this problem isn't making a name for itself, so it's up to us to name it.

Wilson is a board member of Arctic Basecamp, a self-described team of Arctic experts and scientists who have advocated about the seriousness of the climate crisis in the Arctic.
