Chrissy Teigen Has Some Words for Fox News’ Laura Ingraham for Criticizing Her Time 100 Inclusion

Chrissy Teigen was recently named one of the 100 Most Influential People of 2019 by Time magazine—a big honor for our former Woman of the Year.

Famed chef Eric Ripert wrote the tribute for the list, talking about his and Teigen’s shared love of food, her wicked sense of humor, and what a good cook she is. But he also touches on what her fans really love about her: her authenticity. “She may be a top model, but all her life, Chrissy Teigen has liked to eat,” Ripert writes. “She’s not shy about that—or anything else, really. She’s very opinionated, and I love her for it. But what I love most about Chrissy is that she’s very much herself. She may be glamorous and an icon in elegance, but she’s extremely approachable and warm. And above all, she’s a very proud mother and a tremendously supportive wife. I admire her so much.”

One person who disagrees with this sentiment is Fox News host Laura Ingraham, who criticized the inclusion of Teigen on her show, The Ingraham Angle. Ingraham calls out Teigen’s criticisms of Trump and says that Teigen was chosen by Time because she likes to eat. She concludes with a clip of Teigen saying she thinks women should say “fuck you” more often and asks, “But did most Americans like her take on female empowerment at last week’s Democratic retreat?”

Take a look:

Teigen, of course, had some thoughts on this. “Corny monster. There were 1 million other ways to try and take me down and this is what you choose? Fuck you. 😁,” she tweeted. “When time comes out with their 100 most influential white supremacists list, I promise I won’t question your worthiness, @IngrahamAngle”

This being the Internet, not everyone was a fan of Teigen’s clapback. “What an idiot,” one user commented on her tweet. “You lose the argument is baselessly accusing a person of racism. If Laura Ingraham is a white supremacist she is sure doing a terrible job at it. Last I checked a racist wouldn’t adopt and welcome kids from Guatemala into their home.” (Ingraham has an adopted daughter from Guatemala.)

But the large majority of replies were in support of Teigen. “Drag her through your hot sauce queen,” one Twitter user wrote. “If you’re being [taken] down by Fox News you know it’s cause you’re doing something right! Keep it up,” another added.

“Our lives would be so much easier if we didn’t dabble in politics at all,” Teigen said in her Woman of the Year profile for Glamour, “but I don’t want that kind of life. For us, we are willing to take that risk, because we believe in it so passionately.”
